Lokmangal School of Entrepreneur Development

Background:
The Lokmangal Group is a Solapur, Maharashtra based group with a consolidated turnover of Rs. 500 crore. It is headed by Mr. subhash "Bapu" Deshmukh. You may care to read more of Bapu at Wikipedia It is Bapu's dream to create 1000 entrepreneurs from Solapur District before his time on this Earth and Maharashtra has 35 districts!! One can imagine the number of entrepreneurs that can be created.

Why Entrepreneurs?

Simply because India needs more entrepreneurs to be at least on par with where the US is today in ten years time!!

Without more entrepreneurs there is no way that this country will become the power house that it can be, and it must - should it become a benchmark study of the largest democracy / fastest growing economic power etc.

Phase I
The plan is to launch across 35 districts in Maharashtra, attracting at least 20 students from each of these districts.

Course Philosophy:

This program is built around the life of Bapu. His journey from being a Rs.50 a day labourer to a Rs. 500 crore company chairman and by showcasing the people that are part of his organization and who have become "Entrepreneurs" themselves using the unique Bapu concept of creating entrepreneurs rather than employees.

Technology for Course Propagation

Everonn, a leading authority in the space of E Education in India.

Advantage:

For a student of this program, there is no commute, there is no classroom - just sit either in a contact centre or at home on a pc logging onto do course work.

Why Candidates who Choose this Course will be successful
Today, with so many colleges sprouting up in the country, so many educational courses open to students and with a new factor that is now the scourge of this country - unemployability - there is a general feeling of "confusion" amongst youth.

Medical seats are expensive, and the time to become a good doctor is a long and sometimes never ending journey. Most parents don't have that kind of money and don't have that kind of ROI time frame patience. Engineering courses are iffy - one does not know where one will land with all courses proving to be a gamble in terms of job creation.

The professional courses will continue to attract a certain segment of the student population but that is only a meagre percentage of the entire student population aspiring to qualify.

MBA Programs (which are not degree courses and strictly not diploma's too save the IIM's which have a PGDM tag thanks to an act in parliament) are expensive in most of the recognized destinations. In a city like Chennai a decent MBA tag will cost anywhere between 6-10 lakhs depending on what one's definition of 'decent' is and what one 'expects' out of the course. The irony of it is that the payout is one time, the return is not on par (say a course is about 8 lakhs, and the student upon completion gets a salary offer for about 5 lakhs, and this is not paid upfront - this is minus 33% of IT, balance divided by 12 months!!) with investment.

Most case studies in MBA courses are like post-mortems and hypothetical. One does not really become a skilled Manager by the end of the course and even more ironical - when one does get into the corporate - most of what one has learnt is either redundant (a post - recession economy has ensured that most of the stuff that is written up as education material for a pre-recession economy is now not valid for implementation including certain accounting principles and management theories) or not needed. Thus - in majority of cases - the MBA tag is mere hype and nothing more than that.

This program in contrast is driven and mentored by a living example of a successful entrepreneur, his business principles and his willingness to give back to society in real time (his life time) a chance to become on par with him despite his background of not having completed his high school. Currently we are in talks with leading International Universities and Social entrepreneurship organizations to tie up this program in order to enhance its value.

Above all - this program will help anyone become an entrepreneur in any chosen field including that of the opportunities that are now abounding in environment management such as waste management, water management, and solar energy / other renewable energy, reverse migration, rural integration and in the areas of women self help groups (micro-credit) and rural empowerment.

Goal

To create the largest virtual Entrepreneur Development Program with a state of art teaching technology out of India.

The course is meant to attract students who are smart and intelligent and not an option for those who don't have anything else on their hands

  • The Students who apply / pass out will be the Brand Ambassadors for this course

  • In other words - the message here is that this is not a course that is being run for the sake of a course being run, it's an alternative to the best B school education that a student can get and have the freedom / learning / mentoring to become an Entrepreneur and not a manager.

  • Therefore, Selection criteria will be tough and entry is on merit

Launch:

Formal Launch in April and courses will begin in July early half.

What is VSAT

VSAT stands for a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) is a two-way satellite ground station with a dish antenna that is smaller than 3 meters. Most VSAT antennas range from 75 cm to 1.2 m. Data rates typically range from 56 Kbit/s up to 4 Mbit/s. VSATs access satellites in geosynchronous orbit to relay data from small remote earth stations (terminals) to other terminals (in mesh configurations) or master earth station "hubs" (in star configurations).

VSATs are most commonly used to transmit narrowband data (point of sale transactions such as credit card, polling or RFID data; or SCADA), or broadband data (for the provision of Satellite Internet access to remote locations, VoIP or video). VSATs are also used for transportable, on-the-move (utilising phased array antennas) or mobile maritime communications.

VSAT Technology
Communications data passes through a satellite using a signal path known as a transponder. Typically satellites have between 24 and 72 transponders. A single transponder is capable of handling up to 155 million bits of information per second. With this immense capacity, today's communication satellites are an ideal medium for transmitting and receiving almost any kind of content - from simple voice or data to the most complex and bandwidth-intensive video, audio and Internet content.
